Farmers appoint Kisan Sansad as "Agriculture Minister"

Thousands of farmers have been lobbying for the repeal of three farm legislation passed last year.
Ravneet Singh Brar, an MBA graduate from Muktsar in Punjab, was chosen for a day as the krishi mantri (Agriculture Minister) at the Kisan Sansad, a "great chance" for him because he hails from a farming family.
Since the commencement of the farmer's protest at the Singhu border, he has been an active participant, and he is also the spokesperson for the Bharatiya Kisan Union. As approved by Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, the Kisan Sansad will continue till August 9.Ravneet Singh Brar, who attempted to defend himself, was met with chants. He felt humiliated every time he failed to provide a suitable response to the Kisan Sansad members. He and his "government" were also labelled anti-farmer and referred to as "corporate slaves. "As agricultural minister, I answered all of their inquiries, but when I thought the Sansad members had asked a legitimate issue to which I had no answers, I used the technique of ignoring it and gradually diverting the Sansad's attention to other topics krishi mantri "Mr Brar told the PTI news agency. "If they mentioned farmer suicides, I mentioned oxygen. I spoke about how we came up with ideas. I couldn't speak to the Sansad members face to face when they asked me questions. I had the impression that they were asking me legitimate questions, and I could see and feel the agony in their eyes. I didn't address the farmers' problem. Mr Brar stated, "I said Kisan Ekta Zindabad and decided to give my resignation."Mr Brar emphasised the authority and responsibility that comes with the position, saying that persons in positions of power should remember their beginnings and work genuinely for the people of this country.
